Nepal is the youngest republic in the world today. It is known to world from varieties of aspects in the past but for now youngest republic is the most appropriate one. With the revolutionary movement everything is changing rapidly here. In many sense new Nepal is going in declining path but certainly Nepal is going in new direction. The purpose of this article is to focus on "kirtipur", (a country within a country) about the changing scenario of the country.
Kirtipur is small town just 7 km south from Kathmandu city. Renowned for its historical values, this town is still a living museum for all those who want to quest their thrust of art, architecture, culture, tradition, originality of newari society and so on. The establishment of Tribhuvan University, the only government university in Nepal, 50 years back is the boon for people of kirtipur. Thanks to mahakabi Devkota who finalize this place for the very purpose when he was ministe for educationr. Since then kirtipur is known for T.U than anything else. It has great impact on socioeconomic aspects of this town. It was only after establishment of TU, kirtipur welcomes people around the country. Today the condition is such that locals are outnumbered by the students from every nook and corners of the country. It's hard to find out the local people at evenings in the crowd reminding Ason or Indra Chok.
