Views of kirtipur:
Kirtipur is located about 6 kms south-west of the centre of Nepal's capital Kathmandu. While the old historical part of the village extends only over little more than 1000m from west to east and hardly more than 250 m from north to south the entire Kirtipur Municipality with its 19 single villages (wards) covers nearly 15 square kms.
The traveller coming from Tribhuvan International Airport or from the centre of Kathmandu reaches Kirtipur after a 20-30 minutes ride by taxi or by public bus No. 21.
Get off the bus directly at the foot of the Kirtipur Hill and "conquer" the historical centre of the old Newar kingdom at the Bagh Bhairab shrine after a short but steep walk.
